Where Does Desantis Really Stand In Regards To Complete Medical Freedom ?
HB 305/SB222 Is The Litmus Test, and Florida news sources are NOT reporting on this !
Health Freedom - Florida (“HFF”, herein) has spearheaded legislation (The Medical Freedom Act - HB305/SB222) incorporating vaccination and immunity status into the long standing Florida Civil Rights Act of 1992 , in which one’s medical status is within the protected classes, such as race or religious preference(s) , in order to have controls set on discrimination and segregation based on one’s informed consent to their individual medical choice(s). Unfortunately, there is another bill (HB1013/SB252) which has much more limited protections and is seemingly being favored by the Desantis administration which will result in vaporizing and/or obfuscating/substituting for the much more powerful HB305/SB222 .
Here is a comparison of the two bills on the civilrightsflorida.com website (not a secure site, so a screenshot is provided below - but great info on the site)
HFF made their physical presence and bill known to Governor Desantis in Tallahassee:
What arouses suspicion is that HFF’s 305/222 was filed by representative Barnaby in January 2023, and
Has only advanced to just the 1st reading, and
Only made it to the Healthcare Regulation Subcomittee.
However, HB1013 was filed one month thereafter, and has advanced through the legisature considerably more so than HB305:
Here are the respective Florida Senate timelines for SB222 and SB252 which illustrate how SB 252 is being favored to a much higher degree, as in the companion House Bill 1013:
HB 222:
SB 252:
To make matters even more questionable, there is a video of HFF advocates demonstrating that the HB1013/SB252 bills were created as a directive from Governor Desantis's office:
The final suspicions are further underscored in that pharma giant GlaxoSmithKline is Lobbying for HB1013/SB252 :
It has been known for years now that the Florida legislature usually waits to see what Governor Desantis will favor, rather than acting independently as another branch of government, as demonstrated in 2021 when Jeff Childers of coffeandcovid.com spearheaded a months long phone bank campaign. Thousands of Florida voters called five legislators a day to call a special session, which the rules allowed to be called at anytime even when not in session. The legislature waited till the 11th hour months later to call the session, but only at the prompting of the executive branch Governor, and it is this lack of executive branch/legislative branch independence is antithetical to how a more American/Constituional governement is supposed to work, thus raising even more suspicion.
In closing, it is hoped that the Florida legislature, at the very least, can add “vaccination and immunity status” to the civil rights statute and either pass SB222 or add it’s protections to SB252. To take action, please visit the Health Freedom Florida website for resources on how to take action.
